SAFTU WILL TAKE PART IN THE UPCOMING BRICS TRADE UNION FORUM DIALOGUE IN DURBAN

The South African Federation of Trade Unions (SAFTU) and its three sister trade union federations in the country will host the BRICS Trade Union Forum Dialogue organised to take place as follows:

                        Date: 26 – 27 September 2023

Venue: Aha Gateway Hotel, Umhlanga, Durban

The BRICS Trade Union Forum Dialogues are annual conferences that follow the main BRICS summits. They bring together trade union federations from the BRICS countries to discuss matters of global political and economic interest that affect workers. This year’s dialogue will focus on decent work, employment creation and skilling, the current structure of the global economy and how it reinforces inequalities, underdevelopment, and instability, amongst others.

Going into the dialogue, SAFTU remains anti-imperialist and wish to forge relations with its sister unions in the BRICS countries to end super exploitation and abuse by multinational corporations, ensure a working-class centred development and maintain solidarity with the working-class people of the world.
