Tirosano Transport and Services Workers Union was formed in 2000 after a series of negotiations and smaller scale mergers by unions. From its inception, TASWU positioned itself as a transport union but the current scope includes the following sectors: transport infrastructure services, freight, goods transport and services, maritime transport, contract cleaning, general cleaning services, civil aviation, general workers, contract security, general security services, wholesale, retail sector and restaurant, and manufacturing.
